Barcode readers setup
· Necessary equipment :
- The USB barcode reader
- The setup page available in the appendix
Info : the USB barcode readers connected to an Android tablet using an adapter only partially work. If you have a tablet, prefer a Bluetooth barcode reader.
· Connections :
- Connect your USB barcode reader directly to your Android tablet or Android POS
- Turn on the barcode reader by pressing the trigger until you hear a long beep
- Scan the barcode reader configuration sheet available in the appendix
· On your Android cash register :
(Not working with the Samsung tablets using the Android 5.1.1 version)
- Turn on the barcode reader by pressing the trigger until you hear a long beep
To turn off the barcode reader, you must perform the same operation until you hear 2 beep - Set the barcode scanner by scanning the barcodes of the document available in the appendix
- Turn off the barcode reader and then turn it on
- Then, go in the settings of your Android device : General > Language and Input
– Android 4.4 KitKat : on Keyboards and Input modes > By default, tick No for physical keyboard
– Android 5.0 Lollipop : on Keyboards and Input modes > By default, tick Use the keyboard on screen - Finally, by selecting the barcode reader in the physical keyboard, select the French keyboard
Your USB barcode reader is now configured and ready for use.
